Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through me. (João 14:6)

As Christians, we understand that there is only one way that leads us to the Father, and that is Jesus Christ. The Word of God also tells us that through Jesus, we have also been adopted as true children of God, and as we come to know Jesus, likewise we come to know God the Father. We just need to follow in Jesus’ footsteps. As Jesus takes a step, we follow in His footsteps, and the path is revealed to us. On the cross, Jesus opened the door, leaving the way to God open. Whoever follows Jesus follows His path to eternal life.

In the previous verse (John 14:5), Thomas questions Jesus on how they, the apostles, could know the way. And us—how can we know the way? The answer? When we pray, when we seek Jesus in His Word, when we praise God, when we gather with His church. In other words, it is in our daily walk, seeking the Lord, that the path is revealed to us. The truth becomes known, and we have full and eternal life through this wonderful Jesus. It is not by our own strength, but by the strength of a great and Almighty God.

There is no falsehood in Jesus. Jesus is the truth that sets us free from the power of sin. Jesus is the source of all life. He even conquered death! Sin separates us from God, bringing death. But through Jesus, we can be raised and have eternal life. Whoever accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior now has a new and complete life. Therefore, you already know the way. And you will never be alone!

Prayer: Dear Father, may everyone who longs to know You—the source of absolute truth and the origin of eternal life—be convinced by Your Holy Spirit that there is only one true way, and that is Jesus Christ. May the Lord Jesus reveal Himself to the one who seeks, and may they find peace in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
