Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
(Matthew 6:34).
It’s amazing to see God’s different ways of dealing with situations! There are times in our lives that we see God calm the storm; sometimes He lets the storm go on and He calms us down. One way or another, He sustains us and gets us through the difficult seasons of life.
But we always have a choice: either we surrender our burdens to God, or we try to carry them alone. However, remember what Paul tells us in Philippians 4:6, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” And there’s a surprising consequence in verse 7: And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
And how will He sustain you? One day at a time! Do you remember the Israelites in the desert? Every day the Lord fed them by sending manna from heaven. It worked like this: the number of people in a family determined the amount of manna they received; no more, no less. And God allowed only enough to be collected for each day. If they tried to accumulate more, the manna would rot.
Did you understand that you need Him every day? God wants to take care of you supernaturally, so trust Him with all your heart and do not worry about tomorrow. Each day has enough trouble of its own (Matthew 6:34). I encourage you to trust the Lord, believe in His great love and mercy, and look forward to His huge care.
Prayer: Father, help me trust you more and more each day so that I am not influenced or affected by the circumstances. I know you are my provider, my strength and everything I need. So, I do not want to worry about anything. In Jesus’ name, amen.
