What do you prioritize?

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Matthew 6:33 NIV

It’s hard for some of us to understand what putting God first means. When we understand that all we really need is to be filled with the Holy Spirit, everything else changes in our lives. Therefore, we’ve got to prioritize time to be with Him, reading his Word, praying, and improving our relationship with Him.

If there is anything in our life that we are treasuring more than Christ, then that thing has become a master and an idol keeping us away from Him. It’s time to confess and repent. God must be the king of our emotions and thoughts. We’ve got to daily submit our thoughts and emotions to Him through prayer. Therefore, we should admit we cannot do it by ourselves. We do need His help as it is in 1 Peter 5:6, Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.

It’s something we’ve got to decide to do and seek with all our strength, understanding, heart and mind. Once we live a hectic life trying to pursue things and knowledge, we believe we do not have this time to seek God. However, God has a great purpose for each one of us, and the sooner we find out what it is, the better we can live all He has for us.

Probably, you have always wanted to spend time with God daily, but you have never had the courage to get started. So, I motivate you to ask Him right now to help you do it.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I know that your word is a lamp for my feet, light on my path. Give me understanding, so that I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. I know you listen to me, and your Holy Spirit can teach me how to fulfill my purpose in life. So, help me put your Word in the first place and seek for your presence every single day so that I can live everything You have for me. In Jesus’
name, amen.
