“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

(Philippians 4.8)

The human mind is a fascinating and intricate powerful organism. Our thoughts, often considered intangible and fleeting, have a profound impact on our emotions, behavior, and overall well-being. Matthew 15.19 says that “For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.” Before we commit an act of sin, we will think about it. All sin starts in the mind.

If you struggle with negative thinking, you need to grasp the idea that your life won’t change until your thinking does. Renewed, God-like thinking is vital for change. We do not do it by ourselves, we need God’s help.

Paul teaches us in Philippians 4.8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. In fact, you cannot have a positive, exciting life and a negative mind.

I have learned that if we never meditate on God’s Word, we will never experience the depth of His love for us. The love of God is meant to be a powerful force in our lives, one that will take us through even the most difficult trials into victory. God is love. God is his word. When we read his word, he teaches us to believe his promises for our lives. We can reach and enjoy all his promises the moment we understand “the one who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11.6).

My prayer today is that you have enough faith to believe God’s promises of peace and victory are for you too. Read the Bible every single day and your heart and mind will be filled with faith and joy to experience the good news of God.

Prayer: Dear beloved Father, I pray that You will increase our faith more and more each day. I pray that the desire to be closer to You and hear Your voice will burn in our hearts. In this way, our minds will be filled with good thoughts and inclined towards attitudes that please You. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
